Hugalongs Promotes Early Childhood Wellness
It was a masters degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia that first sparked Kelly’s interest in the practical benefits of wellness. But it wasn’t until years later, when she was a lawyer for a top New York law firm that she realized how integral healthy habits truly are. With the stress of the job she found herself succumbing to an unhealthy lifestyle and her overall wellbeing was suffering because of it.
So, utilizing all she learned at Columbia, Kelly completely revitalized her life. She left New York to be closer to family in Florida and ended up meeting her husband which resulted in a move to Los Angeles. Once in LA she was inspired to truly immerse herself in health and wellness - becoming a certified youth fitness and yoga trainer as well as a certified nutritionist. Through a dedication to healthy habits, Kelly discovered the best version of herself.
Which is why, when Kelly became a mom she knew she needed to arm her kids with their own set of wellness tools from a young age. Ones that got them up, out and moving, inspired a sense of adventure, and helped them cope with the stress of this fast paced world.
This led to a light bulb moment for Kelly. Why not create the solution herself?
Drawing on her professional knowledge as well as a lifetime spent around horses, Kelly created the very first “Papap” for her oldest daughter while pregnant with her youngest. This seemingly simple toy became the solution to “fun fitness” for the whole family. Then, when people started literally stopping her on the street to ask where she got the hobby horse, Hugalongs was born.
With Hugalongs, it's Kelly's mission to help parents give the gift of wellness to their children, so all kids have the tools to grow up into a healthy, happy and resilient future generation.
