This is a great activity to introduce gratitude and thankfulness to young kids. A gratitude tree is also a fun activity for families to do during the Thanksgiving holiday.
What you will need:
- a small tree, this can be one in the back yard or a few sticks cleverly arranged in a vase. The tree just needs to be able to hold the paper ornaments
- hole punch
To make the ornaments decide what you will be making. Many people go with a fall leaf design. You could go with an apple or a pumpkin. We were a bit creative and went with a horseshoe ornament. Whatever design you choose cut out as many as you would like. Punch a hole in the top and thread string through to make a loop to hang on the tree. Write on the ornament I am thankful for... and then invite your child to finish the sentence. When done hang on the tree.
This is perfect for family gatherings where each person can write out what they are thankful for.
